Data

Gaging stations were established in 2004 and streamflow data were obtained at Hogan Creek, Bull Creek, and Pauls Creek from 2004 to 2007, with provisional data available through April 1, 2008. Suspended-sediment samples were collected on a biweekly basis. Water-quality samples for analysis of nutrients (ammonia, total ammonia plus organic nitrogen, nitrite, nitrate plus nitrite, total phosphorus, and dissolved orthophosphate) were collected on a quarterly basis from 2004 to 2007. Measurements of water temperature, pH, specific conductance, dissolved-oxygen concentration, and alkalinity were made on site at the time of collection of nutrient samples. In-stream habitat assessments were made on an annual basis from 2004 to 2006 and benthic invertebrate samples were collected on an annual basis from 2004 to 2007. Data for these sites and other streams in North Carolina can be accessed at http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nc/nwis/dv/?referred_module=sw.
