Water Data Report
To Our Partners:
U.S. Geological Survey data collected during the 2006 Water Year have been published and are available online at http://pubs.water.usgs.gov/wdr2006. Electronic online reports for North Carolina for water years 2001 – 2005 continue to be available at http://pubs.usgs.gov/wdr/#NC, and historical water-resources data are available at http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nc/nwis/nwis. We also invite you to visit the North Carolina Water Science Center home page at http://nc.water.usgs.gov/ where you can access additional water-resources data, USGS publications information, and descriptions of our other activities.
Beginning with the 2006 Water Year, the USGS annual Water Resources Data Report has changed from a state-based product to a national report. Individual Site Data Sheets are published using a consistent, web-based search page, map interface, and supporting documentation for the entire country. Site Data Sheets contain all data available for a particular site, including surface-water, ground-water, water-quality, and climatologic data. We anticipate that new capabilities will be added to this web site in the future, and we would appreciate your comments and suggestions on improving the site. Format for citation of the data is given below.
We also are pleased to inform you that all instantaneous (for example, hourly) streamflow values for the period of available computer-stored data (generally since the mid 1980's) at existing and discontinued stations in North Carolina are available at http://ida.water.usgs.gov/ida/index.cfm?ncd=37. The Instantaneous Data Archive provides a new and exciting level of data availability to our partners and the public. We anticipate that additional types (e.g. water level, precipitation, etc.) of instantaneous data will be added to the archive in the near future.
If you have any questions or comments regarding this new data delivery format or any aspects of our program, please contact me at (919) 571-4000 (email: jdbales@usgs.gov).
