USGS Coastal Carolina Project 2003 - Elizabethtown

Coastal Carolina Project 2003 - Elizabethtown
Location

The location of this drill site was carefully selected to extend the depth of stratigraphic data to bedrock, and to define a new geologic contact. The site is located immediately downstream (southwest side of the Cape Fear River) from the Big and Little Sugarloaf Landings outcrops. The objective of the drill hole is to include a significant portion of the geologic section between the top of the Cape Fear Formation and the contact between the Tar Heel and Bladen Formations.

The Water Resources Discipline (WRD) will be installing a monitoring well in the lower aquifer.
