Geophysics

The stratigraphic test hole at Elizabethtown was geophysically logged on two different days. The hole was logged using Century Geophysical Corporation model 9511A and model 8043A induction tools.

August 14, 2003

On the first logging day, August 14, 2003, the test hole was logged four times with the 9511A induction tool -- down and up the hole through the drill rod (casing), and again down and up the open hole. The total depth of the hole that day was 110 feet. Because logging in the up direction maintains cable tension, these two logs may provide more accurate depth readings. Also, because open-hole logging can produce more accurate results, the recommended log for analysis use is the one created up the open hole, not through the drill rod.

August 22, 2003

On the second day of logging, August 22, 2003, geophysical logs were made to the total hole depth of 567 feet. The logs were made in an open hole using the 9511A and 8043A induction tools.
