Kure Beach Location Directions
The corehole location is to the west of US 421, just south of Kure Beach, and just before the Fort Fisher Historic Site. The corehole is about 250 feet north of the entrance to the Fort Fisher Historic Site parking lot.

To reach Fort Fisher Historical Site from Wilmington, take US 421 south out of Wilmington across the Intracoastal Waterway to Carolina Beach. The drill site is approximately 1 1/2 mile south of Kure Beach, adjacent to the Fort Fisher Historical Site.

Coming from Southport, take the Fort Fisher ferry. After disembarking, turn north onto Highway 421 and travel approximately 4.5 miles to the Fort Fisher Historical Site. The drill site is on the left adjacent to the Fort Fisher Historical Site.
