Hydrologic Data Collection

Since the late 1800's, the USGS has collected hydrologic data from a variety of sites in the Appalachian Region of North Carolina. Scientific information collected at these sites can be used to better understand and manage the region's water resources. Data is available for real-time, surface-water, ground-water, water-quality, and miscellaneous USGS sites in the region. Some areas of the Appalachian Region of North Carolina are included in Study Units of the USGS National Water Quality Assessment (NAWQA) Program. Information about NAWQA Study Units is available at http://water.usgs.gov/nawqa/nawqa_home.html.
